Vw Rabbit No Spark

I need help troubleshooting a no spark situation for a 1982 vw rabbit convertible with the 1 7 if engine.

Hello my dad owns a 1981 vw rabbit used to be disel he swaped the disel engine for a gas engine i belive he got the engine from a 1985 vw golf the car ran fine for years he just swaped the engine again this time from a 1987 vw fox with 54000 miles and there is no spark at the coil he replaced the control module with a used one and still no spark. Fuel pump works i am just not getting any spark. This 1995 volkswagen has seen better days but this problem is common and cheap to fix. Hall sensor replacement duration. 82 rabbit no spark gas.
